About Felicity
I enjoy assisting people to access resources of understanding and support and to problem solve healthcare issues.I have done this for the past 37 years as a Registered Nurse. I have focused my work in the key areas of mental health, community services, palliative care, bereavement support, volunteering and aged care and have been responsible at coordinator, manager and director level in Adelaide and the Barossa Valley. For some time I also worked as an educator for TAFE SA Community Services.
In my professional roles I have always been keenly respectful and sensitive to people as individuals. One solution does not fit all circumstances. Solutions must be matched to people’s individual circumstances and needs. Holistic whole-person care, or consideration of our individual physical, psychological, social, cultural, social, financial norms and issues is required. It is undoubted that people can achieve amazing things when given the right resources of information and support. Sometimes this requires practical assistance and the relationship of shared trust and reliability is pivotal to good outcomes. These are important values to me in my work relationships.
Studies other than RN and Registered Mental Health Nursing have included Diplomas of frontline management, applied science community health and a certificate in workplace training. Attending conferences and being a member of various health organisations is also important to keep me informed and up to date.
I enjoy volunteering on our regional Arts Council Committee and also work as a volunteer at our regional Visitors Centre. These interests keep me in touch with the arts and tourism, other loves of mine.
